8/18/09 - Gigi is one of those dogs that people are in awe of because she has overcome so much. She was a victim of abuse and severe neglect that have left her with a few health issues that are not chronic and don't interfere with her being a healthy, happy dog. She endured things like flea infestation so bad that she lost her hair. It is back now. She has a broken leg that healed without being set. It doesn't bother her and doesn't interfere with her movement. She can still jump on and off the bed! I would not consider her a dog with special needs other than a gentle, loving owner. Because of the abuse she suffered, she doesn't run up to strangers to be pet. She isn't aggressive at all, but would probably do best in a home that is quiet with one or two people. She would be a perfect companion for a single person because she attaches herself to one person VERY strongly. She tolerates everyone else. She does do good with other dogs and cats. She will chase a squirrel though! She is very well house broke and quiet too. I don't know if I have ever heard her bark. Gigi is an exceptional companion.
