* { font:inherit; } Please contact Shannon (2ndchanceanimalrescue@embarqmail.com), (660) 885-3931 for more information about this pet.Vixen is an Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix that came to us having been abused.  She cannot handle man or boys and should not be adopted into a family that has either.  She should be adopted as an only dog.  She can get along with other dogs, but there are certain triggers for her that cause her to become aggressive at times.  Things like thunder, motorcycles and other loud noises can cause her to go into a panic and it is difficult at times to calm her down.  We have taken the necessary step of putting her on Clomapramine which does work.  She has to be on a calming medication every day or she becomes overwhelmed easily.  The best way to describe her is having untreated ADHD.  If left untreated, she becomes out of control.  She loves attention and will at times do something for even negative attention.  When calm, she is one of the most loving dog and wants to sit on your lap and be your dog.  She wants to sleep with you and would be a loyal companion for a female.  She can ba a challenge and if you feel that you can be up to the challenge, please email 2ndchanceanimalrescue@embarqmail.com or call 660-885-3931 for more information.Our adoption fee ranges from $75 to $200.  Puppies, in general, will be adopted at a higher fee because we feel that we have provided you with a companion for many years to come at very little expense to you.  The fee will also help our special needs dogs receive the medical care they desperately need.When inquiring about a dog you are interested in, please provide your vet's information as well as information about you and why you are interested in the dog.  Many of our dogs come from less than desirable situations and the more information you can provide will help us ensure that any dog that leaves our care will receive the same care in his/her new home.We do not make guarantees that any of our dogs our housetrained.  We do work with them as best we can, but even if we have no accidents, it will take a new dog a couple of weeks to adjust to your routine.  We also do not leash train as we like for the new owner to bond with their new dog and work with them to create a level of trust with their new dog.
