At only 6 months old, she found herself in Animal Control and worse, she was diagnosed with Feline Leukemia and about to be killed. We were contacted by a caring person to see if we would have room for MayKat to come to our shelter. Unfortunately, we had just lost 2 kitties but fortunately for MayKat, that meant there was room for her. She is such a pleasure to be around, so fun and loving. Even though she won’t get to live a real long life, she still deserves to live it. If you have no other cats and would consider giving MayKat a chance, you wouldn't be disappointed. Or maybe you have a special kitty with Feline Leukemia that would love to have a friend, please consider MayKat. MayKat is Felv + HELP Humane Society is a non-profit, no kill animal rescue. We developed a rescue/foster/adoption program where we foster the animals in our own homes. They are treated like our own pets until suitable loving and permanent homes can be found. Our shelter is located at 511 Main Street, Belton, MO 64012. We are open Tuesday - Friday 1pm to 8pm, Saturday 10am - 6pm, Sunday 12 - 5, and closed on Monday. Please call before you come to find out if the animal you are interested in is at the shelter. Adoption information: All our animals are current on vaccinations, tested for diseases, spayed/neutered and evaluated for temperament for the best possible match for a forever home.
