Date Listed: Jul-09-08 Event Date(s): Aug-07-08 Event Time: 15:30 to 17:30 KANSAS CITY: The Republican Pachyderm Club meeting, August 7th brings an international Middle East program to Platte County. <U>This event allows Platte County citizens to obtain first hand information about what actually is occurring in the Middle East.</U> Captain Gary Hacker, Assistant Chief of Training for the Blue River Public Safety Institute, will present information concerning "Islamic Culture vs. Western Culture". Captain Hacker spent 2 ½ years in Iraq, initially as an Instructor to the Iraqi Security Forces, then Security Manager with the Baghdad Embassy Security Force. From this January through May of 2008, he was a contracted Police Advisor to the Palestinian police security forces. He was advisor to the Palestinian Presidential Guard that were training at the Jordanian International Police Training Center, which is the worlds largest police training center. Captain Hacker is authoring a contemporary training manual about entitled "Should We Fear Islam?" He will address the following topics:
Questions will be taken from the audience concerning his assessent of America’s Middle East Involvement. Attend the Platte County Pachyderm meetings each First Thursday. Meetings are open to the public and media. The August 7th gathering will begin at 5:30 P.M. and Captain Hacker starts at 6:15 P.M. Arrive early; socialize; ask our international guest questions.
